Wow this prompt was so tricky! I'd never considered how difficult it would be to illustrate two conflicting ideas at the same time. In the end I decided to go with this image. I found myself noodling around with painting too much, so I finally opted to finish it up today. Now that it's been submitted I can dedicate some more time to portfolio work! Even though it was a stressful one to make, I actually really enjoyed the challenge. One thing I always struggle with is the "Ugly phase" of an image (That bit in the middle where it's all messy and doesn't look like it'll turn into anything presentable). I like my first sketches and I like the end result...but the middle? Eh. I guess I'll have to learn to just trust the process!
