Hi again,
My first character sheet! I took @NessIllustration Picture Book Portfolio Prompt classes and this was a choice from one of the assignments. I learned a lot about what I could achieve, after getting over myself quite a bit. And learned I still have much to learn.
Question though; I did this mainly traditionally but edited it on Clip Studio (placement/arrangement). Do I now need to call myself a traditional/digital illustrator? I do hope to be working with placement and maybe the colour portions in the future on a digital program. Thanks,

Anyone else joining #folktaleweek next month?
-
@Mia-Clarke I'm joining! I'll be posting about it soon!
-
@Mia-Clarke Yes definitely!!! Iβll be getting ready
-
@Mia-Clarke is there a link?
-
@crispalomino Oh, sorry! Here it is!
-
@Mia-Clarke I am thinking of joining, but I have never done it. Do most people just pick one folktale for the whole week? Or one folktale per day per prompt? Do people make up their own story or always use a folktale? It is probably flexible on guidelines, but just want to know what is usually done.
-
@Kim-Rosenlof Itβs super open and flexible, and not even restricted to illustration (maybe nowβs the time to explore interpretive dance?). I know a lot of people pick one specific tale, but I have also seen people make up their own or just mix whatever is out there. I think the nice thing about the oral tradition is that there are so few rules (which is evident in all the different versions of all the tales), and the organisers of this challenge have really embraced that.
-
@Mia-Clarke Thanks. That is helpful info.

I haven't posted in quite a while but I've been enjoying what everyone else has been doing. Some wonderful stuff in this thread!
I went to Italy in September and have been doing some paintings based on that trip so here is the kind of thing I've been working on: Italian laundry

Did a quick little halloween scene, which Iβm thinking could go well on a greeting card someday.
