Advanced Perspective-Homework Assignment
-
Thank you @davidhohn for making perspective much easier to understand. I didn’t stick to exact dimensions from the plan and elevation views, but rather, just tried to get close and look natural.
I left the perspective lines in to show my vanishing points are waaaaay off the page.
Thanks!

@Jeremy-Ross Nice work! perspective is my arch nemesis
-
@Asyas_illos mine too. I’m working hard on it.

Yeah they are! Nice! This looks great.

Just completed @davidhohn follow-up course “Practical Perspective”, and I’m glad it was a continuation from “Advanced Perspective”.
It’s one thing to watch David add all the detail, which is pretty much amazing, but so much harder to actually do the work.
Barn down!

Thank you for your kind words @davidhohn, @AngelinaKizz and @Asyas_illos.
I’ve always found perspective difficult to understand, but now I’m feeling more confident.
-
Grain silo done! Next is windmill and house.
-
@Jeremy-Ross Oh! I hadn't realized Practical Perspective was a different course! I'm going to go watch it now.
I'm always interested to see what someone else came up with for a course I have done (in this case, Advanced Perspective). It just shows how many approaches people can have even to a technical exercise. This was pretty difficult, and you did well!
How did you deal with all the lines? Did you use the line tool, or draw out pencil lines? I always have a problem with my file getting bogged down when I do perspective with far sight lines (I have to make the page so big), so I like to hear how other people handle it.

Windmill done, on to the farmhouse!

Hi @LauraA , Thank you for the kind words!
I’m using 3 point perspective in Procreate. I also use pencil lines on paper; however, my vanishing points are usually way off the page.
Here’s a screen shot of my grid layout.

Farmhouse done!
No more spamming this post, homework is complete!
On to the next course.
-
@Jeremy-Ross nice work!
-
@Jeremy-Ross do you follow the curriculum or do you jump around to what you feel you need work on, like me, lol
-
@Jeremy-Ross Very satisfying to see what you've done with this project. Thanks for posting!
-
Hi @Asyas_illos,
Previously, I would jump around based on interests; however, now that the curriculum is more structured, I’m taking them in sequential order as if I were in college.
I have taken a break on the monthly contests to just focus on learning and doing the homework during free time. I’m enjoying this process.

Thank you @davidhohn, you’re a great teacher and I look forward to taking more of your courses.
