Landscapes or ... bust!
-
I haven't been here in a while. But back in May of 2020 I posted a question about painting landscapes digitally, to which @Lee-White-0 (or was it @Lee-White-1 or @Lee-White ?) gave me some advice that most people out there buying landscapes aren't buying digitals. It pushed me back into physical media. And I'm so glad. Been painting practically every night since then, and I think I've made some progress. In that old post I mentioned that my works weren't getting many "likes" on Instagram. And, actually, that remains somewhat true. But Lee pointed out back then that there's a lot to doing what "feels" right - and that's what I'm doing, and as a result the low number of "likes" don't feel like they matter as much. And despite those low numbers I've sold some of my pieces and even had a few commissions. And, by damn, I am LOVING the image-building process and LOVING the ongoing learning process.
Basically, I just wanted to say thanks to this forum - both to Lee and to everyone else who interacted with me on that post. This is a supportive place, which is vanishingly rare in internet-landia.
Be well, all.
