Working on a lot of covers lately for buiding some portfolio variety.
What do you think??
Is it passable? -
@burvantill that's a good challenge and I would love to participate in. I have had to postpone my svs classes due to being unwell since mid-feb. I know your challenge will produce some great work.
-
@Georgios-Christopoulos These characters look like they were fun to make!
-
@Heather-Boyd Welcome welcome!! I'm excited to see what you come up with.
-
@burvantill I am so sorry, I did mean to say I couldn't do it but would love too. So now I feel bad but I did do a character design early February that is in a comic style that I love. I profusely apologies because I cannot join as I'd like to but I will share this little girl to smooth the misunderstanding over.
The orange colouring is a lot more yellow but I can't seem to edit the colour properly in my Corel Essentials program.
-
@Heather-Boyd No problem! We do what we can with the time given us.

Workin out the bugs in my page. I'm having a bit of trouble with the last panel. I want Colin to be consoled by his mother but I also want his brother to be getting his hide tanned. Thumbnail time! -
Hi Everyone! I've been in a bit of a creative rut lately, haha but I kept forcing myself to make art everyday, even if everything feels like a failure. I've learned over the years this is the best time to let go of expectation and just explore different things. Yesterday, I finally I was able to paint something I'm happy with again. As much as I love digital painting, I think I tend to really overthink things and get stuck in the never-ending cycle of moving and modifying to a point where I start questioning myself. I love watercolor because it's totally unforgiving and I'm forced to solve any issues that come up. So here is my little watercolor monster, hope you like her!
-
Finally found some time to work on this Nintendo All Stars print!
Here the basic sketch is done,and I ll continue with the inking! -
@demotlj Awesome!
-
Workin' away on more cover designs for the saaaaaaaaame story
-
I've got some serious catching up to do on sharing, so here are the projects I completed in February and March. So if we're imagining an SVS studio walk through for this month, these are the pieces that would be scattered on my desk, floor, and chair.
-
Doing a personal project based on last years Inktober.
-
Tried my hand at watercolour paint and made some Star Wars creatures that are no longer welcome at the Cantina
-
@jakecrowe I've just started this course. I am bigger fan of spaceships even though they are intimidating to draw. These are done really well! Adding personality is exciting though I struggle with cars already.
-
I'm making work in preparation for Mermay! These mar-babies make me so happy. I feel like I get closer to my truest artistic voice with every piece I make. But I still have so much to learn. Working my way through SVS classes on the side, starting at square one. (Literally. Working through David Hohn's basic perspective class right now, lol!)

I think the vibrant colors in this are pretty fabulous
-
@amlilui Thank you so much!!!!
-
@Heather-Boyd I also love a good spaceship. So fun to smash shapes together and give it an engine and a windshield. Ta da! Spaceship.
