@PieterVanDerBeek These are great! The second one is my favorite, he's got such swag.

So last month I tried this painting a different way and it didn’t work out. So attempt number two! Using Will Terry’s dry brushing lesson. Also, I can’t believe it, but even trying to be so careful, I still made a huge design mistake. In my sketch, there were two plants and then randomly as I transferred it to the big version I switched out plant number two for fruit. Fine except then it looked like she was pouring water into the fruit! So I changed the position of the water pitcher but it’s all a bit awkward now . So... lessons. But I’m still going to work towards finishing it because I’m learning how to take time and push a piece all the way .

@donnamakesart I like the first one because the colours help it stand out and the edges look more refined.

@ambiirae theses are lovely!

@Heather-Boyd love the style

Part way through another spread. This is probably my favorite one from the book

I'll soon resume work on illustrating a book that I had to put on hold for a few months. Lately, I've mostly done stuff to practice colors and thing like that more - and took to drawing robots/robot-like creatures.

more colour thumbz (comps?)

I’ve slowly been putting together a book over the last year or so and have started streaming for accountability (and you feel like a magician when you creating something friends don’t know how to do, that’s definitely part of it). It’s an alphabet book about bugs eating breakfast. This is a too detailed sketch that I started having too much fun with.

Teaching my students to paint trees has inspired me.

@chrisaakins Nice foliage.

I hated it this morning but looking at it now, it’s not bad haha. International Book Giving Day is on Feb 14 apparently

Working on some scenes for an animatic a client is making

Working on the second of three Narnia pieces for my portfolio. This one will still be subject to a lot of changes, but until I draw things out, I can't really tell how well they're working structurally, so I'm quite open to feedback. I also may flip the whole thing so I can show the wand in her right hand, but wondering which direction best fits Edmund being there already and the Witch driving up.
(P.S. Just saw all the typos!)

Also just messing around with some Digital Watercolors in PS. Magical Blobfish regent from the universe of Howl's Moving Castle?... thinking about calling him Bob.

I finished this little songbird yesterday as I tried to allay my fears of doing my first live Artstream on Twitch coming up on Friday... hehe... I think I need the weekly commitment to force myself to step out of my stasis and take some steps forward into the art life. I've always enjoyed watching others work, and I rigged up a multi-cam setup and will be streaming my iPad screen using Procreate. But it's still going to be challenging... Splitting my attention between my work and the chat will not be something I've experienced before. I'm a teacher so I'm used to talking in front of people, but doing it virtually is going to be something else... Oy...
