@Heather-Boyd just curious what's the difference between a spot illustration and a vignette?

As far as I understand it a spot illustration is a small free-floating image of a particular object or character, usually without a background, sometimes with defined borders around the image, whereas a vignette does have a background, but the image border is faded or only loosely defined.

@dafoota No worries...neither did mine

Is it o.k to add or/and change a couple of words in the text as long as it has the same gist? Or is the text that Will Terry gave set in stone?
-
@LisaF I've only just nearly finished the first Yeti challenge! I don't think anyone would hire me to illustrate a whole book
-
Pretty excited about this! New to the forum and working on my drawing. I am excited to see what y'all come up with.
-
Well...Throwing this out there...
Apparently this Yeti likes to cook!
-
@Griffin and @chrisaakins Good idea!
-
@Kevin-Longueil Thank you!!
-
@Heather-Boyd I'll ask
-
@sigross Little by little!

Just in case you are unfamiliar with spot illustrations, they often have broken edges, and little to no background. In case you need one, here's an example of a spot illustration, from one of Lee's books:

My entry. Was really fun hope im uploading this right lol.
-
@LisaF Thanks so much for the example! Are we supposed to include the text, or can we just post the illustration on its own?
-
Finally had some time to get back into one of these! Might re-submit if these are supposed to contain the text in the actual graphic.
-
@Tiffany-Thomas Either way!
-
@Aaron_T Yeti Crocker, lol! Btw text is optional
-
@Aaron_T yeti crocker lol love it
-
@LisaF Great, thanks!
-
@LisaF Thanks for the example! I have a question.Isn t this example more of a combination of a spot and a bleed illo? I always thought spot illustrations are kinda small and "float" in the page.
