Very cute illustration! i guess it depends if the moose is originally facing the other two or away from them on which direction you have him flipping. too bad you can't put the gutter between the two watching and the one flipping hehe

I actually did at first have the big moose flipping over in a more compact, less spread out way, like tumbling Then I thought it would be nice to have him go across the page. But his size didn't work out the way I'd hoped, I couldn't both show the others and have him go almost all the way across. Maybe I will go back and finish that first one. Thanks.

This is a mockup, as I haven't redone the big moose yet digitally (this is from a watercolor), but is this a better composition? Thanks so much.

or this... I'm in one of those moods where I can't stop fiddling with it...

I'd say I prefer the first composition. the gutter would be around the chest of the big moose I guess?

@Vr-Ink this one is the best because he looks more startled. In the others he kind of looks like he did it on purpose to show off.

This is a fun illustration. When posting an image with a white background, you may want to add a simple little border so we can see the composition when viewing the thumbnails.

I'd work on changing up their expressions. They all have the same look to them. The flipping moose could have his eyes closed maybe. Then pick two different reactions for the other two characters. This way you are adding interest and showing how different characters react to the same situation.

Keep it going. I like where it's headed! : )

Hi, I guess you mean the one with one of the two smaller characters on each side? I'm not sure how the comment threading works. Thanks!

Yes, around his chest, here it is. His hoof won't be cut off, as the paper extends a little beyond the border.v.rubin.moose5border.jpg

@Lee-White Thanks! That is true, they are all looking surprised and all the same. Will change.

@Vr-Ink no, I meant the one that you said you hadn't done digitally yet, the one that is more in a tucked position.

Oh OK thanks. It's true, he does, since his eyes are bit bugged out! I have changed their expressions now, on the other one (the first one).
