AUGUST CONTEST: It's the first day of school for Albert!
-
Uh oh! It's crunch time!
-
Completely agree @Frogpunzel! Also adds to feeling of nervousness, I think…
-
-
@LisaF Is that your Albert?!? I DIDN’T KNOW WE COULD SUBMIT ANIMATED GIFS!!!
-
@Kim-Rosenlof Yay Kim! it looks so good!
-
Here is my entry!
-
All of your submissions are so great! Here's mine. I'm just so happy that I'm keeping my promise to do this each month.
-
Hi, here is my little submission...
p.s. edited with picture from the critique arena template
-
My little guy is going to be experiencing his first day of school in just about a week so this challenge was extra fun for me, thinking about all of the new experiences my son's going to gain. Hopefully he doesn't get picked to stand up and talk to the class about his favourite food like poor Albert here.. sheesh!
I'm not sure if my entry made it through to the critique arena site since I wasn't able to see any submission confirmation when I tried a couple times tonight. Wish me luck! I want to come and play with you guys again this month:)
Good luck all

@marek-halko this is fantastic! I love the feel.
-
@rmwonders Thanks! I am already seeing things I want to change .
I like your illustration. The colors are really nice. I think that monster backpack is funny and love the big blue gorilla.. -
Thank you @megan-van-der-berg @janette @geekinm
-
@LisaF Okay, I have to admit I was emotionally drained this month, not one but two kids off to college leaving us as empty nesters.:( Very little time to put too much thought or time into this but I did give it 3 straight days. Enjoyed painting once I got in the "zone"
-
Here's my Albert -- he's trying but he's still got a lot of wild animal in him. Love seeing everyone's take on this prompt and what aspects of "first day of school" we chose to illustrate! Awesome job, everyone!
-
@LisaF Were you looking in my window?
-
@Melissa-Bailey-0 Great drawing...Great storytelling!
-
@Iain-Davidson love the movement in your illo! Great storytelling and rendering!
-
@Larue thanks so much! This month was a nailbiter to see if I could get it done in time!
-
@Melissa-Bailey-0 I'm with you on that. Yours is adorable, perfect expression and body language on the little girls face "protecting " her art.
-
@Larue thanks! I love the perspective you chose to use in your piece -- you gave yourself a challenge! Your little veggieater is so cute.
