@Braden-Hallett well, you do live in BC.
I live in the strange little pocket of the interior that should be getting little to no rain. We have cactuses (little ones, but still). Rain is strange and frightening! It's all... wet. Ick.
-
Speaking of which... It's still raining.
-
@TessaW one of my favourite episodes, laugh every single time. Where's the head?
-
hey! i'm new to these forums! hello! i've been messing around with some textured brushes the last few days -- i've never felt like i've had a "style", so i'm trying to figure it out.
-
I, like others, have been struggling with a loss of creative juice so I have been mostly painting watercolors of birds but today I went more cartoony. Anything to try to get back into the swing of things. (They are rose-breasted grosbeaks.)

working on a new story.

@hannahmarie Thanks so much! This was a standalone piece, at least for now. Who knows! I was approached by an editor, she asked me if this was a standalone piece as well. I'd have to come up with a story around it maybe
Thanks also for your comment on my Isolation piece, I had a lot of fun making it -
@Avery-Monsen LOL I love it!!!
-
@nadyart The piece has such a developed look to it, I thought there must obviously be a story! Something very whimsical and sweet! You totally should!
-
It's still raining...
-
@carlianne thanks so much!

Trying out a limited use of color

We're nervous, we're excited. Let's take the plunge together.
@Heather-Boyd Makes me want to go on another Star Trek original binge.
-
@TessaW I would pull her in if she hesitated lols -really not but for an illustration where no one would be harmed maybe just maybe if you had a friend like I did.
-
Done for a PB about a mama hen who finds herself mothering every egg she finds on her morning walks around the farmyard. Hoping it's out soon..all illustrations are finished. On to the next. My own this time..anyone one else have a hard time cracking the whip without someone else setting deadlines??!

I love the idea of this months prompt being like an assignment and though I’m not sure if I’ll get around to submitting something this idea that came to mind and I thought I would use it to help get out of an art funk (looks like I wasn’t alone) while trying to simplify my art.
-
For the day job, I've been tasked with making weekly coloring pages this summer. My art direction was, "Do whatevery you want!" So, I'm making fairy tale type illustrations, which I'll finish as watercolor paintings at some point to fill out my portfolio. Here are the two I've drawn so far.
-
Going back to my mice. I am thinking of a series of Inky goes to the beach sorta thing. I am kinda borrowing from Pascal Campions process of blocking in local color and then adding value and texture after. How do ya like this approach?
-
I think I'm going to explore these characters a little more from the last prompt. I had like 2-3 ideas initially and I think I'm going to do a little self challenge to try and round out this world a little bit (maybe 5 illustrations? I haven't quite decided). Here was one of the other ideas with that same frog visiting a friend.

Finished my pic.
