Hi everyone! There are so many great submissions here! Really impressed with the variety of work. I also noticed that there were alot of illustrations with water and reflections in them.. a common thread, perhaps? It appears in my submission, too. hmm..

There is always inspiration around when you have a kid. She rarely missed other kids during the past weeks and we really enjoy staying home together. But the seldom moments of the kid feeling isolated hurt a mummy's heart even harder.

First ever entry! Had a lot of fun making this - still have so much to learn! I love so many of the other entries - excited to see what ends up in critique arena. Also glad to get back to classes now that I finished this! -
The sun sank low on the horizon and the heat of the day began to ebb as the old man walked through the homes of the departed. Gulls screeched in the sky, crying out for the mans fish. He held the bucket tighter as his steps disappeared into the drifting sand.
lovely work everyone.

Such wonderful entries everyone!

Here is my entry for this month's prompt (big thank you for the feedback I got along the way).
This page truly is a gallery of amazing illustrations! So much to learn from all of the different approaches! -
@Neha-Rawat your lighting is really lovely, I just keep looking at it.
-
@Elena-Marengoni love the story, all my heart strings are pulled. Reminds me of a old doctor who episode too.
-
My character's idea of isolation is pretty much how I feel about it. Give me a book and a quiet spot in the woods and I'm happy. Honestly, even being home with my husband and my three school-aged kids is not bad either. Though that's more "cooped up" than "isolated."
-
@Heather-Boyd you just mentioned my favorite TV series of all time in relation to an illustration I made, I feel honored!
-
A little self-isolation happening here.
-
@Laurel-Aylesworth I really like this style. I love the texture and the soft line work. I really love the lighting too. Great job! I think your style is what I may be trending towards in digital painting.
-
@deboraht THus us a really nice piece. I love the rendering and the lighting.

@chrisaakins Thank you. I tried David Hohn's technique after watching his In the Studio demo: bringing in a traditional texture into Photoshop, adding layer masks and modifying them. I've been working on blending traditional with digital and his technique really resonating with me -- and it's a more efficient way of working than I had been in the past. Here's a link to his demo if you haven't watched it:
