Venting a bit on my KDP attempts
-
I'm venting a little. I am so discouraged because I have been trying to formatt this dang book, ordered two proof copies, changed the page size over and over and there is always something wrong with it! I am impatient and digitally confused. I wish I knew how to fix it (and how to avoid the problem again!).
UGH!!!! -

@Marsha-Kay-Ottum-Owen hi! What seems to be the problem? Perhaps we can help.
-
@Marsha-Kay-Ottum-Owen That indeed does suck It always seems like printing goes wrong no matter how hard one tries.
-
@Marsha-Kay-Ottum-Owen not sure what is happening. Maybe share a screen shot of the book and of the art side by side so we can see what is going wrong. It might be a DPI issue. I would check your scans and make sure you resize according to KDP requirements.

@Chip-Valecek It is the page size they say. I keep changing it incrementally. They told us what to increase it by but it still got rejected. I'm going to try again today. I need to calm down, think it through, look at all the information. I tend to have a hard time with that. I'm not sure how to show my art and the book side by side (I gave my grandson the proof book).

@Chip-Valecek Okay, I think I might know a possible problem. My husband, who is more tech savvy than me has been helping however he isn't a book designer, but a programmer. The pages I got from the designer were 8.75 x 11.25 (probably to allow for trim). I wanted it to be timmed to 8.5 x 11. My husband resized those pages in KDP to be 8.5 x 11. This (maybe?) caused the pages to overlap a little. When we changed the trim size to a smaller size on KDP the pages didn't overlap but some of the text, etc. got cut off a little.
If he reloaded the pages that are slightly larger than 8.5 x 11 and then made the trim size 8.5 x 11 maybe it wouldn't have overlapping pages and would fit within the bounds set up?
Thanks.
