I submitted this piece (Little Red and Wolf) for the SCBWI Illustrator Gallery for the Bologna Book fair, which is separate from the main fair gallery. Here is the information on it if anyone is interested. Deadline is 11/15 http://bologna.scbwi.org/scbwi-bologna-book-fair-2016/bologna-illustration-gallery-2016/

I love the style. Really great!
I love that the palette is so limited but still includes bright color.
If I remember right they asked for a Red riding hood like never seen before. I guess you did it! -
Thanks for letting us know!
-
I love how you have Red and the Wolf connected. Very cool illustration!

Thanks Jana, Shinji, and Lynn!
@Jana I did use these characters for the Tomie contest also and it was a Red Riding Hood theme. It is such a fun fairy tale to play around with. The Tomie contest is open till December. Here is a link to that one too if anyone is interested. http://www.scbwi.org/awards/tomie-depaola-award/

Awesome Sarah, I look forward to seeing your piece.

Will you share your brushes? Its so nice!
-
Love your style. it reads so easy. I wish you big assignments from Bologna!

Texture seems very 'in' right now, but this is a different kind and I love it! It's almost a thin knit. Design is perfectly simple, you put effort into balancing the image and it shows. Well done and good luck!

@Leontine Thank you!! I create brushes in Manga Studio 5, I'll have to research how to share them. In the meantime, this guy has some awesome brushes too. http://frenden.com/post/39394983582/custom-photoshop-inking-and-pencilling-brushes for photoshop and Manga. And check out @Lee-White video on making them. It is really good!
