Hello! Here's my entry for this month contest. It's my first time here!
So many great entries! -
Here is my entry! When I thought of mushroom village, I thought it would be cool if it was traveling on the back of a mata mata turtle.
-
“Edible mushrooms.” There aren’t any fairies or smurfs in my painting, but I did ask my “village” of friends what mushrooms they loved to my munch on. It’s always fun to get the Facebook world involved in my work. This is something i will add to my portfolio of food illustrations and will be able to sell at my craft fair next weekend! So thanks for the prompt about a subject I wouldn’t have explored otherwise. (For the record, I did sushi for the octopus prompt, but never posted it.) -
Hello everyone, this is my first SVS contest.
-
This is the first time I have done one of these competitions, so quite nerve wracking and exciting!
It is winter in New Zealand (where I am ), and we had so much rain the day I was coming up with an idea :). Plus I LOVE mushrooms, so it was too hard to resist this competition!
Hope you guys like my entry! -
Going to call this one done. I am sooo sick of mushrooms now.

Hi everyone! My name is Svieta, I'm new here. And this is my illustration - a crazy mix of giant mushrooms, made-up hobbits and animals with mushrooms for ears! (I swear I didn't eat any "special" mushrooms when I came up with this xD)

Hi everyone! This is my first time entering one of these, and first time really getting into illustration. I've been watching the YouTube videos and am learning so much and have been inspired to get into illustration and combine it with my graphic design background. It was fun and challenging to try and figure out my style. In the past, I've always designed for others so it was freeing to just create something that I loved. Thank you for the challenge, it was a great motivator!

@eli - thank you so much! I've not tried something with these colors before.
@Patricia-Alvarez - Thank you, what kind words!!@Tom-Shannon - I seriously love this!! What a fabulous idea, it made me laugh, the drummers face is so great.
@Gary-Wilkinson - This has such a great Mario vibe to it. The colors are so vibrant and really pop and I really enjoy the texture you put on the mushroom. I like that the fence is poking out almost to ward off any mushroom hunters, yet the hunter is so large, that it wouldn't really make a difference.

There are so many AMAZING entries this month! Love the creativity and styles. I wish I could comment on them all. You guys rock!
Here's mine! I did two color studies and it was REALLY hard to pick which one to go with for the contest. I ended up going with the twilight color scheme. Everyone's feedback was so helpful.

YES! I did it! I've barely slept in three days, but - for me - it was worth it. ^^
I've been really scared to post something on this forum... All of your pictures are so beautiful and I'm really intimidated.
But someday I'll have to overcome this fear... So, here I am! And the first contest picture of my life:Please be kind... but brutally honest

I didn't think I was going to submit anything for this month. Then this idea hit and I couldn't let it go. There are a lot of great entries this month. You guys keep making awesome work!
