I have two young children, one still in nappies... wish I had a few extra arms some days! Pencil sketching then ink. Will move to digital now for refinement and color. Comments welcome.

Great concept! I remember the baby days and it DOES feel like you needed more arms sometimes! My only comment is the baby looks like it has too many arms at first. I thought the leg in between the arms was its arm, then I saw another arm off to the right. It kinda muddies the read that the baby is reaching for the rattle. My instinct is you probably wouldn't see much of that leg at all from this angle. Maybe change it so it's more parallel to the outside leg?

With two kids in diapers, I definitely relate! Especially with my toddler. She has to be bribed to stay still sometimes.

I had the same problem as @carriecopa --I thought there were too many arms on the baby at first. The hands and feet are drawn very similarly, which I think is part of the problem.

Also, in the pictures I've looked at of octopus tentacles, they just have two rows of suckers along each tentacle, but I'm seeing more than that in your drawing. So maybe you have different reference than what I've seen, but I thought I'd mention that.

Overall, very fun concept and very cool octopus, and overall the drawing is very strong. I'm excited to see the finish! 🙂

I had the same concept but instead of changing it was feeding them in high chairs. Then this morning I had a different idea I started to roll with. Needless to say this is a great concept. I do agree with @Sarah-LuAnn about the suckers in two rows, but with it being a cartoon version, I guess you can get away with it.

@carriecopa Thanks! I have reworked the limbs of the baby. Probably not for the last time.

@sarah-luann Thanks! I think I got carried away with the suckers. They are so fun to draw. I'll be paying more attention to reference for the final.

Ok, here is where I'm at. I guess I'm finished but I'm not sure. I'm going to sleep on it. If anyone has any suggestions then please feel free. Thanks for looking.
