Foundations Expert!

This would be perfect! I have been really struggling with the perspective class in particular, so having someone to correct my work would be marvelous!
-
Do you have a timeframe for when you might start offering this service?
-
-
@Jeremiah-Ashcraft We are locking down details and will hopefully be starting a test run soon (within the next 2 months). Keep an eye out!
-
@Lee-White yes!! Also, a paint mixing demo from @Will-Terry for traditional media in the basics of color class would be very helpful to newbies like myself.
-
@Lee-White I would be interested in a "Storytelling" Pro! Not so much about a book dummy as about all the ways we can up our storytelling skills and take out work to the next level, with feedback to push our skills.
I also liked the graphic novel class idea you mentioned in your 200th episode. (Congrats, by the way!)

@LauraA check out the book invisible ink and the podcast you are a storyteller, both by brian mcdonald, story expert and consultant to pixar and anyone who is anyone— no one is better at story than brian mcdonald. Start at ep 1 not the most recent ep, and definitely buy the book

@Lee-White This would be incredible. I’ve been subscribed to SVS for 2 years now and have had trouble being consistent. This would help motivate so much. Plus, I imagine there might be more opportunity then for getting to know classmates.
I know the details are not yet finalized, but does it look like this would be less expensive than the Pro classes? Would it be per class or a nominal fee for the whole foundations track?
This is such a great idea; very exciting!

i where just having a look at it how many weeks that would be. I think it is a verry good idea, but i know with my schedulle and workload i couldn't stick with it for 24 weeks in a row, if i would deliver every foundetion course week by week, even though i would love to.
Or how many classes are we supposed to deliver by the end of the week?could it be level by level?
But i really love the idea, i guess it would help a looot of new people here and also me included
-
I would love the accountability and professional critiques of a weekly or bi-weekly check in and critique of a teacher!
-
@Lee-White Sounds interesting! Look forward to hearing more about it. I love the value and flexibility of the current subscription model, but could potentially pay a bit more for more guidance, it will really depend on the scheduling of the live component as well as the cost. I'm happy to share more thoughts if you're doing "user research/market testing."
-
@von_Nimmermehr So far we are thinking it would be in 6 or 12 week blocks. It would be for all levels within the curriculum.
-
@Lee-White nice! that sound feasible for me Looking forward to it.
-
Yes sounds great! I think that is what was missing. Also is the how to fix your art checklist documents part of the subscription? I’m sure you guys have said it was going to be but looks like you have to pay extra?
-
@Tamzin it is a separate course thing from the sub, you have to buy it individually
-
@Lee-White I would be greatly interested! Direct live feedback from the instructors themselves is always beneficial i feel
-
@R-Fey-Realme Thanks! Sorry it took me so long to get back to you, but I subscribed to the podcast. Looks good and I really like podcasts, since I often look for things that I can do hands free. I own the book. The style of the book doesn't appeal to me, but the info is good.
-
@LauraA he recently came out with another one i havent read yet called the land of the dead, which is a graphic novel 🫨 no idea how, but it sounds fascinating
-
@Fey-Realme Oh duh! I was thinking of Framed Ink, not Invisible Ink! I have been listening to the podcast and it's great. Now I'm really interested in the book. Thanks for the recommendation!
-
@LauraA im so glad! It has been so brain exploding for me! Im excited to get “The Land of the Dead” and see how they made it a graphic novel writing book! Id love to do a writing group that used his books/teaching as a framework
