This is a scene I want to do in watercolor for my 7 month old great-niece’s room: I did this rough version digitally in Procreate to figure out composition and color I render it in watercolor. I’m taking votes on whether to frame it with a silhouetted tree, a silhouetted tree and foreground bush, or no framing at all. As I said, these are rough and I’ll make them prettier (I hope) in watercolor, but thought I’d get people’s votes on which way to go.
To frame or not to frame

@demotlj super cute! My vote is for either full framing or no framing at all, I think those are equally lovely.
-
@Mia-Clarke I started out with the full frame because it felt the most balanced but then I wondered if it was TOO balanced. Sometimes I think I overthink things
-
@demotlj Sorry, I realize I wasn’t very clear. When I said full framing I was referring to both tree and shrub, as in your second image. So option 2 or 3, is what I was trying to say.
-
@Mia-Clarke That is what I thought you meant so you are in agreement with my first instinct. Thanks.

I like #2
-
@demotlj My first instinct is number 2. I like the 3’d one as well though.
