So, let's talk about "the writer's warmth" spam

Every time I post anything on Instagram these days, it get's one of those comments (always from a different account), that says, "Promote it on the Writer's Warmth" DM____. I delete them, but today I have had at least five on the same post and I can't even delete them fast enough anymore.
Is this a legit thing? And if so, why do they spam? How does it work? And how to you get rid of them?!
And then there's all the other spam, like all the silly Shein clothing tags and the single men with one post who all just happen to be generals and love their kids, but I'm particularly curious about this one.
Just thought someone might know!

@LauraA Do you use a standard list of hashtags? I find that it's normally a bot account auto-commenting on every post with a particular hashtag. Maybe try changing yours up to see what's triggering it.
I used to tag my location as being in Atlanta on my posts and I would get three spammy "promote it on" comments every time I posted. As soon as I stopped tagging my location as Atlanta, the comments went away.
You can also go to the account that commented the spam and there is an option that says "block this account and any new accounts this person creates" - that can help cut down on those comments.

@LauraA I haven't heard of it but something you can do is go into instagram settings, then privacy, then hidden words, then there is a section that says custom words. You can add writer's warmth onto the list. It says you can add multiple words, phrases and emojis so that may help cut it out of your comment section.

@LauraA Yup, it’s bots but not sure how the scam works. I just delete and report/block. It’s a pain but at least people only see legit comments on your posts.

Thanks! It probably is some hashtag, though I don't know which one. I like that idea of blocking certain words, though!

Yeah, they pop up all the time in my and other people's posts I read. I just delete and block the accounts.

@LauraA I had to deal with this yesterday...writers warmth spam comments are a nuisance. I've gone into my Instagram settings, into privacy and then the hidden words section... needless to say I've made sure 'writers warmth', 'shein', 'mate' and 'nft' have been added to the list of comments I don't want popping up on my future posts! Annoying is the polite word for it!
