@Jake-Parker absolutely loved this podcast. I think it’s one of my favorites. And, not just because I’m just starting out at age 40 also. She gave me a lot to think about as far as what kind of work I’m making and how much time is spent in the super curated environment of social media. Just so good. Her art is fantastic too. Definitely subscribing to her email list.

Such a great episode
I KNEW that Jake has been reading Cal Newport books based on some of the things he's said the past few months. I really, really could not recommend his books enough.
I am so excited to go back to watch this episode on YouTube (after listening to the podcast.) As a fellow ADHD artist, I am super interested in how other illustrators channel it. It can be your best friend or your worst enemy. So it was really nice to hear how Samantha structures things... and hearing other people ramble and get off topic always makes me feel right at home.
Really a lovely listen as usual

So far it's been a fantastic interview, I still need to finish it. I really dig her style as well as what she has to say about social media. I've found myself going down some of the rabbit holes she mentioned and she is absolutely right about them. While I'm not sure I'm ready to go fully off social media, I do take months off at a time away from it.
For me it's all about balance, and if left unchecked that balance can become unbalanced in the wrong direction (To much time on social media) so taking a month off here and there helps reset the balance for me. For the most part.
