JANUARY CONTEST: Tiger
-
I went in a very different direction with this one. Wanted to lean heavily on the conceptual part of this prompt. I know cute always seems to win but Iโd really like to challenge that and at least make it into the ranking with something thatโs not cute.
-
@koaila-art Well then - I'm glad, honoured even, I did! One reason why I love this monthly challenge so much is because I get to see all of the different approaches and stories. It's so inspiring!
-
Hi there :). I couldn't resist to try this one ! I'm not sure that I correctly posted my artwork on critique arena, but I'm glad to show it to you here :).
-
@oana thanks so much! It's such a fun book and it was fun to put a little twist on it!
-
@lizardillo you made it, Liz! Love seeing the finished illustration -- very moody environment! Well done!
-
@tul-art LOVE this! It's so peaceful and atmospheric. Welcome to Critique Arena and congratulations on your beautiful first submission!
-
@koaila-art I LOVE this! The expression on the tiger is priceless!
-
Happy Chinese New Year!! I hope itโs going better for you than the tiger.
-
@kim-rosenlof Thank you very much.
-
@melissa_bailey Thank you soooo much
-
Wowzah! I just love looking through everyone's posts. Such skills and imagination!
-
@oana thank you, paws are always such a joy to draw
-
@melissa_bailey thank you still a lot of work needed to improve backgrounds but itโs a start. Thanks again for all of your help.
-
@lizardillo you're so very welcome! You gave yourself an extra challenge by setting it at night -- but that makes sense because tigers are nocturnal. Unique take and well rendered!
-
@lizardillo Love the story. One of my earlier ideas had tigers playing in a swamp. And your environment is coming along nicely.
-
@marek-halko This is funny. I had only seen the top portion and was like "am I missing something". I scrolled down and was like yeah, lols. Such a off the wall unexpected story, thanks. Your story telling is another level, love it.
-
@kim-rosenlof Your character designs are super cute and nicely rendered!
-
@ruth Love this! The tiger's pose and perspective made me stop and stare with admiration.
-
Hilarious @kim-rosenlof!! Dang! What didnโt I think of that one!?
-
Gosh, I'm amazed by everyone's unique approach on the Tiger prompt. Here's mine. I don't know why, but I tend to keep fiddling with my work until the very last minutes before midnight. Last night, I realized that my file was too big and I couldn't figure out how to shrink it down without losing readability. Any advice on that issue would be greatly appreciated.
