JULY CONTEST: Albert needs a home!
-
Albert arrives at his new home in England. I hope the colours are ok, I did the value / tone thing first so fingers crossed it has worked. Little Albert bear should be the focal point.
I’m much more comfortable with coloured pencil techniques for colouring in.
-
Here is my entry for july. Looking forward to seeing more homes for Albert.

@chrisaakins this is amazing. I love the style choice, everything about this home is appealing to me. Great work, you’ve got my vote!
-
Submitted early for a change…Really loving the house entries so far!
-
@Asyas_illos thanks so much! I am glad you like it!
-
@chrisaakins looks exactly like the kind of house I'd like to live in!

Here's mine which is also a combo of the classes I've been taking on the Foundations Path (can't wait to do Creative Comp, the Light and Shadow Class, and the more in depth perspective!). This month I also tried Will's dry brush acrylic class which is what I tried for this illustration. It's Albert the Beaver, adopted by rabbits and who loves his new brother. They are in his beaver den clubhouse. Can't wait to see more of your Albert houses!

Albert, the Groundhog (who isn't afraid to fly!)

Albert the Pig and his new home.

My Albert is a polar bear cub who travels south to an English seaside town for his summer holiday. He falls in love with ice-cream and makes friends with the son of the couple who run the B&B where he's staying. He starts helping out around the place and at the end of the summer they invite him to stay.
(the architecture of the house is based on the hotels around Brighton, where I recently visited :))
There's more I wanted to do with this but time is getting short so this is where I'll leave it.
-
@Rachel-Horne I love your style! it's the sort of thing I always have in my head before I start a piece but somewhere along the way it morphs into some other style and I never quite manage it
-
@neschof it’s so lovely, I would definitely want to stay! Great job
-
So I made this for Albert and totally overworked the coloring stage, I need more training in digital coloring for sure
-
Here is my submission for Albert's home! Had a lot of fun experimenting with the style for this piece
-
My Entry for this month I'm glad a few more people are entering, there haven't been very many posts this month.
-
I had to discontinue my subscription do to being in the middle of a big change in lifestyle and hopefully a move, but I think I’m still active till the end of this month so here’s my entry

Hey @AustinShurtliff I already uploaded to the critique arena website. But I think the image is blurry as I think I tried to enlarge it a little more. Here is one that is a little clearer if you can swap it for the one on the website. I’d be grateful, it seems no matter what I can’t quite figure out the template, sorry! If I need to upload the clearer one to the site I can, I just didn’t want to double it up on there. Thanks
