Portfolio project - Princess and the pea

Hello everyone, I'm currently working on a series of illustrations for my portfolio, I've decided to do a modern retelling of the classic, 'Princess and the pea.' I have worked on a couple of draft sketches, this is my mini feedback corner would love to share my process sketches as I go along.

I understand your logic but, Hotel Pea? Little kids will giggle for days on that one. Perhaps something like, The Pea Pod Hotel, might be a little less suggestive of the bathroom.

I might vary the size and structure of the mattresses pile them in a less organized manner. And show her writhing around, trying to get comfortable.

Love your sketches! And (sorry to disagree) but I think the name of the hotel is pure gold! My 4 year old would love it! And of course she would giggle over it day and night... but that’s not a bad thing, isn’t it?
