Inktober hashtag suggestion -- what do you think?
-
With Inktober beginning tomorrow and given the current situation, I was wondering if all who are participating could add a hashtag in support of Jake Parker. He has always been generous with time and information and I thought it would be good to show the love. Nothing divisive, just something like #thanksJP.
What do you think? Do you have a better hashtag? Can't wait to hear your thoughts!

That's a super nice idea.
I like #thanksJP
What about
#JPrules
#jakeparkerrules
#ink20jp -
@Pinky Love #thanksJP!

I have received a message every time I used the hashtag up until now, pointing me towards the legal issue. People are asking to change it.
I’m sorry to see that the hashtag has become so tainted, that the challenge cannot be separated from a legal issue that is beween two people.
(I’m sorry if this is a bit off topic by the way). -
@nadyart I think people who go out of their way to comment on every single Inktober post are kind of sad.
-
@NessIllustration I feel that this will happen to me (the comment on every post).
-
@nadyart I posted my first Inktober image today on Instagram, an intro to my subject this year and the first comment was from someone who told me NOT to use the word Inktober in my image. I LOVE inktober. I appreciate some people have been contacted by lawyers, I don't know what they did exactly to get lawyer attention. I love the community around Inktober and I think that is why Jake created this amazing challenge for people around the world to make pictures with ink in October. I just want to draw.

@Judy-Elizabeth-Wilson Only people who were selling zines and such with "Inktober" as their title got a DMCA asking them to only use Inktober as a subtitle, not main title. Posting on Instagram with the hashtag is not going to get flagged as trademark violation, people are just really misinformed and sadly, are going out of their way to spread that misinformation around... I say just draw and ignore them!
-
@NessIllustration Thanks Ness. Yeah, thought so. I have my own main title anyway.
-
I love the #thanksJP
@Pinky thank you so much for having this brillant idea, and sharing it with us :-). -
My vote's for #thanksjp.
-
@Jessica-Jolicoeur i'm doing #thanksJP
-
@Nyrryl-Cadiz It is simple and makes the most sense. I haven't tagged it on my entries yet but I will start doing it.
-
@Judy-Elizabeth-Wilson this is interesting. I assumed I would get comments like this but I haven’t had a single one yet. I decided early that if people were going to be negative I would just delete their comments.
-
Great idea! I'm going to start adding #thanksJP

@Kristin-Wauson Yeah, I was really surprised people were so open about knocking down the challenge. If you think about how the challenge is about challenging yourself to be a better artist and joining in with others doing the same. So essentially doing something good in the world, being a better a person. I thought, why would you attempt to discourage someone else. Anyway I am all about sharing positivity so I stayed neutral, art is my LIFE and I will do every blooming challenge I can to improve.
