Hi from a newbie in Toronto, Ontario, Canada
-
Welcome @Basil-Godevenos
I am much older than you and starting out as an author-illustrator after a long career in engineering. Age is just a number. Don't let that limit you. Learn as much as you can. It is all worth it if you enjoy and have fun along the way. -
Welcome! Like mostly everyone has said, it doesn't matter when you start I also really want to see what you can do
-
@RG-Spaulding Glad to meet you! I'm curious how your background in engineering informs your artistic eye/process.
-
@Inge-Permentier Thanks for the encouraging words. I also want to see what I can do with proper instruction! I'm aiming to take it pretty slow, but I'll post my progress.
-
@Basil-Godevenos welcome!
-
@Nyrryl-Cadiz thanks!
-
@Basil-Godevenos welcome fellow Canadian. I’m 55 and at the beginning as well. So you’ve got plenty of time!
-
@Basil-Godevenos welcome, I live in the Mississauga area. Glad to have you here.
-
Hi, and welcome, I'm new, too
-
Welcome! I am 42, and just started getting serious about developing my hobby into a business!
-
@MissMushy Thanks! I have an uncle who picked up painting in his mid-40s and he's very good. So that gives me hope!
-
@Heather-Boyd Oooh so close by! I'm actually in Markham, but nobody outside the GTA knows where that is :face_with_stuck-out_tongue_winking_eye:
-
@JoannaH Hi and welcome to you too!
-
@Fossi-Images Just took a look at your IG. That is impressive work! My best friend is a graphic artist who has recently gotten into block printing. He lives in California, so I've never seen him work. Watching your process videos has given me some insight!
-
Wow! I just got into this forum and already loving the energy here!
Just like you @Basil-Godevenos : I'm 38 and just got back to drawing after putting it aside in my teenage years.
I relate a lot to what you're saying, and all the other comments are giving me more reasons to keep practicing!
-
Welcome fellow Torontonian!
-
@Moose-Otakool Hey Moose! There's a lot of positive vibes here. I'm very glad I found this community.
-
@danielerossi Thanks very much!
-
Hello fellow Canadian!
Looking forward to seeing your 4–7 year plan develop!
-
@Basil-Godevenos I hope you reach your goal, it does sound really challenging with all those responsibilities but I’m learning now that with my own increasing responsibilities being a young guy I have to start managing my time wisely and prioritizing things
