Hello from Toronto, Canada

@danielerossi I'm in pretty much in the same boat as you (without the self published book part). Welcome!
-
Thanks for the warm welcome, everyone!

@danielerossi
Welcome. I’m a fellow GTAer living in Brooklin -just east of Toronto. We are also a similar age. I’m looking forward to seeing more of your work.
I used to make a 3 panel strip in my free time and share online and in our local paper and I’ve been thinking about getting started again. Nice to meet like minded people. -
Welcome! I'm one of the really old ladies on here at 62 I mainly just like to learn and develop my skills fo rmy own sake Looking forward to seein gmore of your comics
-
hi, I love your little tiger! I joined here this year and am hoping to start working professionally in illustration at some point, I am switching over from traditional media/pet portrait commissions etc and I'm in Newfoundland
-
@danielerossi Hi Daniel, welcome, love the tiger it’s a little bit like Calvin and Hobbes meets James Thurber cartoons, maybe.... but not quite....definitely your own style anyway.
Sorry I spelt your name wrong I just realised it’s Daniele and I agree stuttering is cool. -
@Mr-Rob Thanks fort he welcome, neighbourino! I’d love to draw for my local paper. I should look into that.
-
@Marsha-Kay-Ottum-Owen 62 is the new 26! That means 45 must be the new 54
-
@Coley Thanks! Newfoundland is one of my bucket list destinations. Had the chance to go this November but flights are just too expensive. Had a previous trip to Iceland and Newfoundland looks beautiful even from the air! The mountains were cutting through the clouds!
-
@peteolczyk No problem. My name caused so much confusion all my life and continues to do so. It’s an Italian name for boys.
You’re probably the third or fourth person to tell me that my tiger character (named Ti-Ger) reminds people of Hobbes it wasn’t my intention when I designed him but originally he was orange in colour. Then I decided maybe I should keep him black and white to avoid confusion. Though there is a definite difference between my drawing abilities and Bill Watterson’s
-
@peteolczyk Thumbs up on agreeing stuttering is cool Do you stutter as well?
-
@danielerossi I know, the flight costs are terrible. Not too fun trying to get off of this place! But it is pretty awesome Iceland is on my bucket list!

He’s so successful it’s hard not to compare an illustration to his work. You’ve got a fun style and a great niche where you can really positively help. (I don’t stutter but I fully get your message) - and as for names you should see the spellings I get at least you have vowels, my last names mostly consonants

Hi there and welcome! I'm younger, thirty, but I also live in the GTA! Nice to see some potential local friends on here.
-
@DreaGryphon It would be great to meet other artists. I’m the only one I know in my area! Which is odd since Toronto has 3 million people
-
@danielerossi Welcome!!
-
Hey! Welcome to the forums. Nice to see more members from Ontario! I'm in Kingston just a couple of hours away.
-
Thanks @juliepeelart and @Josh-Masse! I’ve been to Kingston many times. Beautiful place. Especially the drive along Princess Street by the water (if I remember the name correctly).
