Garden WIP- Which one?
-
@TessaW I like A better.
-
@TessaW i love A. The warth of the bricks help draw my eyes to the girl as opposed to the dark green gate. It also makes the piece feel more open. I love this piece. It just looks so beautiful.

I think A reads better
-
I like A better because I feel like the flowers add good energy and interest that the gate doesn't. Just be sure the big flower next to the bee doesn't detract from the bee himself.
Oh, I just saw the little one peeping over the wall..that is too cute.
-
Thanks you guys! I tend to get lost in endless variations, so you are helping me keep on track. I'm glad there was a clear choice between the 2.
-
I like A as well... maybe you could 'age' the wall a bit? But that is just a thought. Love the feel of this piece, it's very... happy and natural!
-
I like A better too
-
@TessaW I see what everyone is saying about the openness of A, but I like the feel of B gate not having the gate edges lead the eye out of the picture--could you have the edges of the brick wall more covered by the flowers/foliage?
-
@Sofie-Schollaert Yes, that's a really good idea. This is just a super rough sketch, and I will definitely need to ponder about more of the secondary details. Thanks!
-
@BichonBistro Good catch. I'll keep this in mind while I develop the foliage!
-
I choose A also

-
@TessaW WOW thats impressive. I can't wait to see how you paint it.
-
Wow that looks great! Makes me want to color
-
@TessaW Hi hi I missed the child in the rough sketches

@TessaW WOW!!! I love the colors and the blurry brush strokes you did. Now this is just me but I think it would be great if the flowers weren’t as blurry as the girl to add more contrast and another level of storytelling— the girl’s world is colorless and uncertain hence the blurriness while the garden is a beautiful, safe haven hence the color and more focused surroundings. But then again, this is just me. I do really love your piece as is. Amazing!

@TessaW I like this one best

@BichonBistro Thank you!
