@shinjifujioka Hahaha nice!! Thank Lee, I felt the same way when he showed me him!! Being introduced to amazing artists to study makes me giddy!!
-
@shinjifujioka Yes that one is gorgeous!
His sense of space and use of white vs deep darks is amazing. He really goes for it contrast wise!!

@Charlie-Eve-Ryan Do you know of a larger size of that image? I want to see more of the details.

@shinjifujioka I have no clue on that, but here is the site where the pin originated from. She has a bunch of his work there.

I love Behance and Pintrest because it's very organized to store pictures and easy to search for good refs...

I really like all the suggestions of great artists. I want to add some great Dutch artists :
Loish:
Fiep Westendorp:
Wouter Tulp:
Marius van Dokkum
@ShinjiFujioka
Love your critique piece, surely gonna try the shade trick! -
I'm really inspired by Lorena Alvarez, Joey Chou, and Britney Lee! Their styles are so colorful, and imaginative. They are so well trained that the liberties they take capture my attention and inspire me to be less rigid.

I love some that you have said: Pascal Campion, Loish, Wouter Tulp
Also I love browsing theses artists' work (all very different styles!): Carter Goodrich is just brilliant, Carine Hinder, Eve Ventrue, Sam Toft. In a very different style, I love Birgitta Sif's style, it's so sweet. and the one who lead me to SVS, Will Terry is a big inspiration as I feel close to his style in the way I draw and paint -
oh yeah, another one, even though to fully appreciate it, you need to speak French (she's hilarious)! but some of her illustrations speak for themselves and her art itself is very well mastered: Nathalie Jomard
she can be cartoony or very poetic. I mean, how cute is that? https://www.facebook.com/103641416345805/photos/a.104015079641772.2656.103641416345805/985846264791978/?type=3&theater -

So many artists influence and encourage me. The two that spring to mind immediately are James Gurney and Terryl Witlach. I've followed their work since high school and both of them have encouraged and motivated me to improve over the years...hopefully a trend that continues! I also follow TONS of artists online via instagram, tumblr, deviatnart, etc...but it would take pages to list them all.
