@Laurasketches You nailed it with that tattoo! I love it! I would love to see that one in full color!

"Taco Tuesday" and "Viperfish" Don't steal a mermaid's tacos...even if you are super scary and have enormous teeth (I was really glad to learn that these fish are small-cause. yeah. they would be scary to meet in the ocean.) I know I'm only making sketches....someone tell me which one I should finish..!!

@andersoncarman These are great! Very nice gestures with each of them.

Since I intended to use Mermay for figure drawing practice, I have included a robobean (no resource on that one. I was just trying to figure it out on my own. I did do some other ones with resources for that one but, at this moment can't bring them up on here.. Besides looking at my mermaid, feel free to give me some pointers of where I'm going wrong. Thanks!!
Oh, experimenting with unusual colors. besides, my paper is weird and my eraser smears instead of erasing so....that's why the weird water or whatever it is

@Laurasketches Lovely in so many ways!! The concept is fun, the composition is spot on, and your line work is just beautiful!

@Marsha-Kay-Ottum-Owen I see a marked improvement from the previous one. What is robo bean?
-
@Amber-Lynn-Benton I'm doing the Proko Figure Drawing class. There are different segments. You start with gestures, the bean, the main points of the body (can't think of the name right now.) If you know what the bean is, it's a simple representation of the form of the torso and pelvic area. You use it to help to get the right shape (hard to explain) for the action a figure is doing. Anyway, the robo bean is similar but you make boxes for the upper torso, a separate one for the bottom. For me, it's been challenging but, I just need to do a lot more of them.

@Marsha-Kay-Ottum-Owen That is all new to me. I’ve heard will talk about the bean in a general way but not this specifically. Figure drawing is on my radar but I’m trying to complete the foundation courses first.

@Amber-Lynn-Benton Yes, that's a good plan. I have mixed things up according to my projects. A friend asked me to draw some of her family in their game characters. I did the first attempt and realized I really didn't know how to draw a figure well at all! I usually do cartoony things. I did some research on different sites and figured a few things out and worked my way through them. I wasn't being paid so I felt less pressure to have them perfect (except I did still want them to be as perfect as I was able). I decided to buy the class. I'm glad I did. Still have a lot to master but every bit helps. I've also found some other really good youtube videos, etc. that help. One I watched the other day was by Alphonso Dunn (I think I got that right). He was explaining the bones and how the muscles attach to them. I will watch that again.

@Laurasketches It makes me smile

Okay, this one is definitely not a finished product but I wanted to get something up. I am still sick and getting ready to travel tomorow so I decided to stop here and just post as is. You can see I was trying t use the robo bean underneath. Next posts for awhile will probably be quick ink doodles just because I will be in a car and or hotel and hopefully having all kinds of fun out and about with my grandson and daughter!
