Misunderstood monster concepts, help me pick?
-
I like 4 the best. It's a funny concept and it would be cool to see further sketches of it at different angles, variations Good luck with it!

Here's the next round of thumbnails, any preferences or thoughts on the thumbnails? I rarely work this way and am trying to follow the checklist from the creative compositions course. Thank you!
-
@martha-sue I like #5, Composition is good, visually interesting.
-
@adrian-k Thank you for weighing in, this is my favorite mainly because it has the cake stand in it and I want to draw that.
-
I think I like 5 best, too, followed by 3 and 1.
That poor monster! I love this.
-
5 or 2 for me
-
@twiggyt Thank you!
-
I vote for 5 also. I like the composition
-
yep I agree with everyone else: 5
-
@rcartwright Thank you! I started on 5.
-
Hi illustration people, here's my paint. I'll turn it in tomorrow, notice anything I should adjust first?
Thank you!

@martha-sue Perhaps a bit of a warm glaze over some of the top parts, like maybe the hair or the skin? And perhaps lighten up the value a bit more behind the mouth to make it stand out, since that yawning cavern of a mouth is hilarious and has a great dimensionality! I would say to vary the line weight as well, but it may be too late for that, given that it's the 31st, so don't worry. It's just the I like your line work so much in your second round of sketches! Sorry, I only just saw this thread morning, but your concepts were all funny, and I liked 2 and 5 as compositions as well. Good luck!

Lovely work, I like your idea and composition! Sorry i'm a little late posting too, the one thing i'd say is keep her left arm in the scene as its a little distracting that it's off to the side, that might just be me though
-
@hannahmccaffery Thank you! I did start a paint over of that
-
@martha-sue this is really cute! Itβs giving me an Alice in Wonderland vibe.
-
@lauraa Thank you! These are great suggestions. I might have time for those, we'll see. About the line quality, I have this gap between my traditional media line quality and digital. Also working on the difference between my fine art, and making a planned out illustration. I get cool line quality, and sometimes a good vibe to my traditional media work but it's like untamed and I can't get it to look like that when I thumbnail and plan things out. Onward I guess!

@nyrrylcadiz Thank you! I was thinking about her dress and the rabbit house scene, just trying to get inspired to learn about backgrounds since I have avoided them in the past.
