AUGUST COMPETION TOPIC: MUSIC
-
@demotlj I never pursued an instrument with any actual discipline, I always commend those that have.
-
@chrisaakins Thanks! yeah the story is the strength of this piece. Did you notice how the instructor resembles a violin? (I hope it's obvious enough)
-
@naters-calderone For someone who hasn't "pursued an instrument with any actual discipline", you did an amazing job of nailing the feeling. There are a lot of things people post on the forum that I love artistically but this is one of the first times that I've responded so viscerally (in a positive way) to a piece. Wonderful work!
-
@naters-calderone I totally got that. I thought it was a lady violin at first because of the scroll/bun. (Which for some reason made it all the more awesome that she was kicking his tail.) I love how he finger flicked him to oblivion.
-
@eunji-jung so lovely!
-
@naters-calderone brilliant! and as a former violin student I can really feel it
-
@naters-calderone This is brilliant!!

@lee-white Hey, Lee (and everybody)! I'm a newbie to the SVS forum and thought I'd jump right into the deep end and participate in the "MUSIC" competition. I call this one "The Pianist". Hope you guys dig it!
(edit) I forgot to mention I used a Kuretake brush pen and Deleter screen tone on linen finish Strathmore.

@lollyw
I like the movement in the curves of the cord, and your background and shimmery effect of the circles. -
@seanbiance
Great shapes and gestures. You've given this piece a fun, very animated feel! -
@Miriam Thanks a lot!
-
@eunji-jung Lovely work! I love the idea that the fairies are playing along.
-
Here's mine. I had the Cantina band song in my head when I started it.
-
Here's my submission -
@gary-wilkinson I love him so much! Even his little red nose!
-
@sammyphoenix Thank you so much!
-
Here is my submission for MUSIC.
Mom just needs a little "me time" but the chores still need to get done, the kids can fend for themselves for a song or two. You might need to turn the volume up a little bit though!
-
@shiggins180 Love this. Its pretty much me, but I've got an audio book plugged in.

Hello to all of you art buddies!
I'm fairly new to the SVS, and completely fresh on the forum. It is just amazing seeing all the different art work here on the forum, so inspirational. So I also wanted to give it a try myself and share my illustration for the contest.
I wanted to depict different things music can be: a connection to someone else or another place, joy, freedom, optimism, or an escape to something pleasant..
I hope you'll like it
