July 2024 Submissions - How To Fix Your Art
-
Here’s my take on this months prompt. I feel like something is missing though, and I cant put my finger on it. I’ve tried softer line work (pencil), more details in the background, less details in the background, but I just can’t seem to get it to a stage where it looks done, but not overdone 🫠 Any feedback or advice is much appreciated

@LauraA So sorry about your arm, hope you are well soon! I like how the image turned out, it’s much clearer than the first version and it’s a fun idea

Hiya everyone. I've not been active on SVS for a little while but I listened to the podcast the other day where Lee was talking about this prompt and he described almost the exact image I drew in 2022! So I thought I would submit it It probably won't count as it's over 2 years old but I couldn't miss the chance to submit it after I heard his description! This is "Chaffy's BirdBox" (the bird inside is a Chaffinch - I'm from the UK).
Any feedback and critique always welcome and it would be interesting to redraw it based on the critique and see the difference.
Thank you!!

@lizardillo He says it near the end of Is My Work Ready for Market?
-
@maarcos-l This took me a beat to take it all in but then I chuckled put loud
-
@Tash Your storytelling is hilarious

@Sunniva This is beautiful and super clear! Take or leave my thoughts: Some of the folks on the ground look a little floaty because the shadows are so subtle. They don’t need to be darker but my brain wants them a little more solid under the feet of the figures.

@Juleesa this is so clever and well done!

Hi Guys. There have been so many fun and unique takes on this months prompt. Some of them are super clever and I wish I'd thought of them beforehand! This is my illustration for July. I had the idea of a truck selling "Food for Thought" and even though we know it's not very good for us, we keep going back for a second helping
Keep up the great work guys.

@B-rex Baahaahaa!

@MarcRobinson This is deep! And well done.
-
@Larue The mama and baby aloe and the scorpion!

@Sunniva I like this! The feel is somewhere between Lois Lenski and Marc Chagall. And the concept is similar to the one I couldn't finish, so I'll be interested to hear what they have to say.
