SVS Studio JUNE 2024

I'm back at some mundane paintings
I wish to do more things but some other projects came around so I didn't really finish much stuff this month so far.
I did try some egg tempera today, not a big fan of transparent medium... but I found raw mineral colors to be quite vibrant. Maybe I could use them to boost some saturation in my gouache paintings.
-
Some charcoal pieces I've been doing.
This is 2 and 3 of a series of Rhino. I have another of the art board and will probably do a couple more when it's complete. I hope you like them
-
Here is another June piece. Right now, I'm just enjoying finishing random sketches from my sketchbook.

After the livestream I re did the Title text. Hope my illustration breathes better now!

@Zachary-Schrage Yes in my opinion it looks even better now although there's hardly anything to fix really
-
-
@evka8D thankyou!
-
@Yiming-Wu I’m curious—What were these paintings for?
-
@Kristen-Lango Cool! What’s this character’s story?
-
I recently bought sticker paper. I can finally decorate my water bottle!
-
@Zachary-Schrage
Loved it then, love it more now!!! I think what you’ve done is amazing:) -
@Sarah-VanDam Thanks Sarah! I'm working on a story which will take place over the 4 seasons, working title "Skip & Viv's Seasonal Shenanigans" it's a picture book idea and in my head it's kind of a refrain or repetitive verse from the point of view of Vivian (Viv) who will say:
"Sometimes Skip comes over to play in the summer"
"Other times Skip comes over to play in the fall"
and so on through the other two seasons, but the imagery is what will be telling the story of the trouble they are getting into each season with water balloons being thrown at cats and indoor s'mores on the stove and there will be a bit of a visual punch line to each sequence where their clever ideas of how to play more creatively gets them in a bit of trouble.
So that's the idea -
@Jeremy-Ross Nice colors! Assuming this is a double-page spread, making Lemon longer and/or placing them more to the right might help avoid the gutter. Also, I took the kid's mouth as a mustache at first. Maybe make the mouth and hair different colors? Overall, nice storytelling!
