Basic Perspective Final Assignment

Hi everyone- I finally finished this, after 2 weeks of trying to figure it out. I struggle with cognitive dysfunction, and trying to understand perspective is... difficult. I'm so grateful for this class- David's teaching really helped me grasp it to an extent I never was able to before!

But do you guys know what to do about the empty corners at the bottom? There'd be walls there, and it looks weird to have open corners and be looking through the "walls," but I couldn't figure out how else to do it. I tried cropping past them, but didn't like the composition. How do you guys deal with this?

I tried over and over to understand the camera angle (I messed-up lots of versions, trying from different angles), but it's like beating my head into the wall. I'll keep practicing though! Here's the final block one and the fully-rendered one (my VP's were off the page, on a bigger paper I taped these onto):

Nice Job!!! I find your room charming. I love the wood grained flooring and the bunny lamp.
I'm still working on mine. I spent a LOT of time in the beginning trying to pick the right location for my point of view. I worked hard to find an "inside-the-room" position at about 5-1/2 feet tall, so I'm not looking at the back of any furniture nor outside the footprint of the room. Unfortunately, to get inside your room from the height you've chosen, you'd have to crop a lot out (imagine zooming in so your head is in front of the walls).
All that said,... DON'T FRET! I think you did a great job and I really like it...

@NickyDrew I like it unless you crop it I don't think there is much you can do. But I think it's okay since it's just an exercise to learn from. Yours looks really good!

@NickyDrew Hey, way to go! I especially like your pencil rendering. I think the best part of this exercise now is to recognize what situation you could use this “camera angle” in. I definitely think you’d have to really crop in, but that’s okay. I think this would work especially well if you wanted to focus in on the bed, like this. You could actually still crop in even further, and it would work. I love the angles you’ve made with the open door, the floor boards and the wall panels. I kind of had some fun with it. Once again, really nice job!

@TheresaMuth Oh my goodness, the location is part of what I was having such a hard time getting my brain to figure out! Good luck with yours- it sounds like you picked a good one. I'm excited to see it when you're done! Thank you for the feedback. Having to crop it so much is what I was worried about, but I don't see a way around it either. Thank you for the feedback on the setting, too- I had a lot of fun setting the stage

@MerryMary That's what I was afraid of! It's good to know there's not some solution other than the cropping that I'm overlooking, though. I'll keep working at and try to figure out a better camera angle. Thank you for the kind words

@Sarah-VanDam Aw thank you so much for taking the time to draw that up! It looks so cute with the characters bringing some life into it! And I see what you mean- the cropping isn't necessarily a negative thing. It looks really good the way you did it. Thank you so much! It's always nice to have other points of view to see from (pun very much intended )
