Can anyone suggest a good External Hard Drive?

My computer's storage is starting to fill up and I would like to purchase a 2 TB hard drive but don't really know of quality ones. I've heard that some of them have a history of failing and I of course don't want to lose all my work and everything else. So was wondering if anyone can suggest a good product as well as steer me away from any bad products you guys have had or seen.

@Kris-Knight I've recently started to store on dropbox. its cheap and works really well for me.
