Our SVS Virtual Studio JUNE 2020 ☀️

Here is the final. I decided Inky needed a spot by himself.
Also the lighting inside a shell is durn hard to render.

Friday and today I worked on two small master studies. The originals probably were done digitally and may not have been pastel but I am just really loving pastel pencils and wanted to do these adorable foxes to practise applying technique and mixing colours. I am using a 12 pack of Faber-Castell pastel pencils which requires more colour mixing to try to get the right colour. I have also been feeling my work up until now has lacked the lustre of atmosphere so I found some watercolour work that had beautiful blends and wanted to try them out with pastel pencils; I did so (not shown here). Soft blends make me go all warm and gushy inside. Anyways, I am very happy with all of it!
*Edited note: my copies appear blurry I think because of my scanning -I'll work on that. Thanks

Played around with Lee's texture process today. This is very different from what I normally do, but it was a lot of fun!

@chrisaakins I get all the feels from this one~! You got the shadow colors so perfectly! Great image!

Finally feeling more comfortable with vignettes.

Here is a piece I just finished up yesterday! It's part of an ongoing personal project of mine. I'm going through the alphabet and drawing up a different cat based illustration for each letter This one is for the letter O. Orbiting cats in an alien cat solar system!

I’m not working on anything too important at the moment but this was the latest piece I did after working through some of the lighting and shadows course. Just playing around with varying tones (light, medium, dark) before going to colour for once. Don’t ask me what the picture is about because it began as a random sketch and I just followed through for the heck of it. Maybe someone can tell ME!

A few things I've been working on
-
@Katie-Kordesh I love the style of your grumpy princess character, really nice expressive lines! Is the style of the top image inspired by the book Madeline? It has such a nostalgic feel to it
-
I've been working on some more portfolio pieces this month
-
Still building my portfolio.
-
@Annabishop aw wow thank you so much, yes it is! Bemelmans is a huge inspiration for me right now
