Just wondering, is anyone following scbwi digital workshops? what was your experience?

I haven’t yet. I thought the one this week looked interesting so I might check it out. It’s supposed to be on the site for a month I think. Unfortunately they’re at the same time as the svs live events if I am correct. But being recorded we can take them in later.

Hehe. that is true. It is the same time as the svs live events. I would stick with svs live :-). But I am greateful that so much greate resources are being recorded at this moment :-).

@xin-li I saw the first two SCBWI workshops.
They are excellent with a lot of information and great examples. Kate Messner gives good tips for revision. The principle applies to picture books.
I didn’t see the 3rd workshop because I wanted to see Lee's painting demo.
I’m glad that they are recorded so we can watch them at a later time.

@Mara-Price thank you so much for the info. Were there a lot of interaction between the speakers and the audience, or it was more like a virtual lecture where the speakers talk most of the time?
-
@xin-li Everyone is muted. The presenters answer questions from the Q & A section. Kate Messner in particular was so popular that she gave an extra session just to answer questions.
-
@Mara-Price thank you :-). It might be a good time for me to renew my SCBWI membership.

I really really liked the first one. Kate Messner was a really great presenter. And I had a lot of epiphanies during her talk. I haven't made it through the other ones, but if they're all like that one I think they'll be worth watching for sure!!

@Coreyartus thank you so much. I will check them out.
