Hey everyone,

My name is Savina & I just joined the site. I'm looking forward to meeting everyone!

I guess we're supposed to give a bit of background on ourselves, but there really isn't much to say...I started drawing 4 1/2 years ago and have been obsessed since. I'd had the desire to draw throughout my entire life, but I had the mistaken belief that artists are just born with amazing skill (don't ask me why I thought that), so I just never tried. Unfortunately no one disabused me of that silly notion (including the artist boyfriends I had throughout my life) until I met my now-husband, a fellow artist, who has been amazing and supportive throughout my artistic journey. So here I am.

Throughout the time I've drawn, I've used mainly graphite and some colored pencils, but a little over a month ago I found pastel pencils and fell in love. Using color is an entirely new exciting challenge for me. I'm not much of a fan of the digital medium, although as I progress, I imagine that could change.

I am already a fun of yours. These pieces, especielly the first one reminded me to Alfred Dürers work. Are you doing this for a living?

@Jana Wow, Durer - that's an awesome compliment, thank you! I'm an emerging artist and I sell my originals as fine art illustrations at art festivals and a local gallery, but it's all not enough to support my family yet :/...I still have a lot to learn but I'm hopeful I'll get there!
