I'm a mostly complete beginner, getting a late start in the art world. I'm 37, married, with children, so it's going to be a challenge!

I've had a few false starts with drawing and digital painting over the years as a (hopefully) former serial hobbyist. I have always thought I'd be a novelist or screenwriter, but I've always had a lot more fun in the pre-writing stages of worldbuilding and thinking about characters.

By embracing visual storytelling, I hope to be able to communicate my worldbuilding through images.

A few weeks ago I began a character art course on Udemy and then sought out art podcasts to keep me motivated. That's when I found SVS (via the 3 Point Perspective Podcast). The first few episodes really spoke to me, especially the one that addressed the question "Am I Too Old for This?". Listening to that episode, and then the "Ship Happens" one, I found myself outlining a 4-7 year plan to develop myself as an artist from the ground up.

Once I finish the course I've already started, I'll be subscribing to SVSLearn and doing the fundamentals classes.

I don't have any art to share yet, but I'm looking forward to engaging with you all and showing my progress.
