What is your LinkedIn experience like? Have you found it useful for opportunities?
-
Just made a LinkedIn profile & I would like to know how it as fared for you.
Would you say it is more successful than Behance when it comes to work opportunities? It's a bit more corporate-y so I would like to know what you think. Opinions & suggestions are welcome.
Wondering if it's ok to post art there or is that a complete no-no
I can be found at www.linkedin.com/in/illustrator-darianpereira and I like to connect with you! Thinking about opening a Behance account as well.

I've yet to gain anything from it. I've only been active in the last year, even though it's been open since 2009. Having many contacts helps, I hear. I have very few as I've been fairly reclusive, and am only now trying to pursue things more.
Here is mine, I would love to connect with you and others. https://www.linkedin.com/in/cassandra-canady-a5184411/

I think your art is quite good! Especially the latest works..where have you studied art or currently studying from?
Thank you for sharing your LinkedIn experience Cassandra! I think it's going to take a fair bit of scheduling for us to spend our time promoting our work on platforms like these while making the art itself.

@Darian Thank you.Your art is amazing!!
I'm self taught, but joined the, SVS learn courses, at the beginning of the month. So far it's mostly served as a reminder to do what I know I should have been doing (fundamentals, using reference, forethought, and patience), but have started picking up some new skills as well. Hoping to make a giant skill leap within a short time.
Promoting definitely takes time. I've neglected it for so long, time to be more open.

@CLCanadyArts Oh then that's awesome! loving your progress!
I look forward to seeing your art grow & may you have multiple art opportunities that pay well!
-
Thank you. Same to you!

@Darian I created a LinkedIn last year, but that was when I was still working in the public sector. My connections list and my profile so far reflect that. I haven't, however, leveraged the platform as an artist thus far. Maybe someone who has done so can chip in with their experience! It is on my to-do list, but it is a low priority for me right now. Higher up are my IG, personal website, and an FB page.
I am unsure if posting art would go down well there, but I have seen artists on there with their portfolio website listed in a prominent place, and with catchy bios stating what they do, and even mentioning that they might be available for freelance work.
@CLCanadyArts seems to have listed her work on her LinkedIn page, and it looks great!

@animatosoor Thanks, I've seen a lot of artists on there. I know one can make articles, about their work, or anything somehow business related. Svs is even on there. https://www.linkedin.com/company/svslearn/ Their page is interactive as well.
-
@animatosoor thank you for sharing your experience! I have seen a couple of people sharing their art there as well & it depends on the connections for how well the post will get a response..like on most social media platforms..what's your linkedin link?
-
@Darian I was certain I had included my LinkedIn in my initial reply! Haha, sorry for forgetting. It's https://www.linkedin.com/in/soorya-j/

@animatosoor Connected

@Darian Yay, haha, we're making strides in our networking efforts! XD
Seriously, though, I'll need to get to revamping my LinkedIn later this year. Yours looks really good, by the way.
-
@animatosoor well said! making strides indeed! & it's important as well..not to mention it shakes off all the isolation..haha ( which I don't really mind, but my art may remain in a dusty closet then. So well.. XD)
Glad you like how the profile looks. Will experiment with posting there later on & see how it goes.
