I am doing a writing excise, and looking for a good reference resource for word lists for children's book - words that appropriate to use in children's book age 0-3, and age 4 - 8.
I will be happy to get tips for both websites and books.
      Any suggestions?

@xin-li “Children’s Writer’s Word Book” Should do the trick - I purchased it from amazon a few years back - it looks like it can be got very cheaply elsewhere though.

You could either go to a library books and check out some early reader's book (and make a list of your own) Or talk to one of your teacher friends and get their input on what they're teaching.

Googling 'word list by grade level' yielded some good results for me.

You might want to consider looking for Fry and Dolch high frequency words and the Dolch 95 common nouns.
