Help with scale feature in adobe
-
My computer had a virus and they had to wipe out my computer so I had to reload adobe photoshop cc. I used to hit shift while scaling for even scaling, but that doesn't seem to work-how do I evenly scale an image, have they changed it? Thanks!

If you are using the newest version of photoshop, Adobe being the geniuses that they are reversed this feature. The default is now proportional and use the shift for non-proportional.
You can switch this to the old way of doing things.
To revert to the legacy transform behavior, do the following:
Use Notepad (Windows) or a text editor on Mac OS to create a plain text file (.txt).
Type the text below in the text file:TransformProportionalScale 0
Save the file as "PSUserConfig.txt" to your Photoshop settings folder:
Windows: [Installation Drive]:\Users[User Name]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CC 2019\Adobe Photoshop CC 2019 Settings
macOS: //Users/[User Name]/Library/Preferences/Adobe Photoshop CC 2019 Settings/

The newest update to Adobe changed the scale tool - proportional scaling is now default, you do not have to hold Shift anymore. It seems like a good change but has been really annoying to get used to!
Bonus tip: if you hold Alt you will scale your selection towards/from the center (it scales on all sides instead of to one corner.)
