It's hard to tell what is water and what is the eel. At first glance, I thought just the red part was the eel, but then I saw the face in blue & realized that it's a red stripe along a blue body. It might help to change either the water or the body of the eel--you could lighten or darken one, or change the color (maybe add a little green or purple to the blue color).
I like how the eel is circled around the mermaid & the horizontal lines on the eel are fun & lively. The little scales flecked over the mermaid's skin is nice detail. -

I had not noticed that, maybe because I always know where is his body. But you are right, the face and the water have similar color and the color of the line doesn´t help too much. Maybe I will change the color of the water, more darken. -

After some feedback I did some changes to illustration 17. I uploaded it with day 18 that both make a doble page of this little story.
