Fabric folds

Hi is there a class that touches on fabric folds, and how to make them look believable, when you don't have reference for the specific pose you are drawing?

I don't think SVS has one (but that would be a good one y'all!) but I can recommend a book- Dynamic Wrinkles and Drapery by Burne Hogarth. He teaches about the different types of folds and how movement affects them so that you can learn to do it from imagination.

The best way, imo, is to simply grind out dozens of sketches/studies of various reference photos.

Pretty soon, your brain will start "intuitively" know how the fabric will look depending on the position of your character/object.

@holleywilliamson @mattramsey has revealed the secret - after a sketchbook of drapery studies you can draw drapery in nearly any situation...
