I've been feeling frustrated with my work for a while now. I'd like to find an artist whom I could hire for personal mentoring/lessons/coaching. I'm self-taught and haven't had the benefits of art school (structure, feedback, personal attention from instructors), and the online resources that are available don't seem like enough anymore.

Can you think of a good way for me to find a teacher? I don't want to "cold call" anyone who isn't already interested in offering this kind of one-on-one thing, but I don't know how to advertise the fact that I'm in search of a mentor.

Any advice you have is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

@zoe Stephen Silver has a mentorship class where he talks one on one with you - i have never done it but his videos are very inspirational - when i googles Stephen's site google said the "site might be hacked" 😞 never saw that before... anyways here is the link http://www.silvertoons.com/1on1-mentorship/ His videos are great if you have not seen them

I have done Silver's class. He is most helpful and he works in 30 minute stints. I believe it is $30 for 30 minutes. Here is the link http://www.silvertoons.com/classes/. You use Paypal and he emails you an available time. Then he Skypes you in 30 minute increments.

Good Luck. Let me know how it goes.
