Baldur’s Gate 3 Fanfic Comics WIP - Crowdfunding SOON
-
Hello, everyone! How have you been doing?
I’ve been recently fangirling over Baldur’s Gate 3. I’m not much of a gamer myself but I can’t deny a great story and even greater art when I see one.
So I’ve recently been working on a fanfic comic. I’ve already started on a few spreads and will be sharing them soon. I plan to crowdfund this as a short 24-page comic book.
My story revolves around Durge and Orin and their relationship as Bhaalspawn sisters before their disasterous falling out which jumpstarts the game.
So, I hope you stay tuned. More to follow. Thanks!
.Note: I initially planned my Durge and Orin to have a mother daughter relationship but I decided to make them around the same age instead.

Wow, very ambitious. Glad to you have found a story you’re passionate about.

@Larue thank you! It is. The Baldur’s Gate 3 storyline is so well done, I just had to add my own spin to it.

I’m very proud of the hands in this one.

Nyrryl, this looks really great! I'm looking forward to seeing it progress! Some tips I'd give is the hands tend to be a bit big and the finger and arms a bit short. I also think the shoulders could be broader and the necks longer on the male characters. Also the hand gestures look a bit stiff so I suggest posing and taking a lot of reference as making hands look natural from imagination is super difficult. Overall it looks amazing though and I love all the action.

@Mimi-Simon Hi Mimi. Thanks for the tips. Is there a chance you can specify which parts I could do more work on? I’ve just been working on them for a bit and I’m getting art blind. Thanks.

@Nyrryl-Cadiz it will depend on your style, but there are a couple tips about proportions. One I find useful for arms is that (and you can try it right now) you can raise your right arm above your head and then bend your elbow till you touch your left shoulder. Adults and teens can do that, children can’t. So I use it to have a guide on lenght.

@Nyrryl-Cadiz your work is wonderful! If I may ask, any advice you would like to share regarding fanfics and crowdfunding?
-
@Nyrryl-Cadiz I decided it was easier to show you by drawing over. hope this will be helpful and please do let me know if you don't understand something. Everything is just super small tweaks.

@Mimi-Simon hi Mimi. Wow this is very detailed. I’ll make sure to rework the major issues you’ve pointed out but with my limited time given my day job and the remaining pages I have to finish, I’ll have to leave as is the minor issues and the ones that have more to do with my style. Still, this was helpful. Thank you!
-
@Nyrryl-Cadiz definitely just take what you want, (if any) it's all very subjective. I just went over what stood out to me.
-
@Mimi-Simon Thanks Mimi. This has all been very helpful nonetheless. Thank you.

@makekong hi! I’ve thought of some fanfics before but this is the first time I am actually making a comics of it. It’s also my first time crowdfunding so I unfortunately have no valuable advice to share. Except maybe to create something you’re really passionate about. Create the project you like to see in the world. If no one else likes it, at the very least you like it. Do right by you.
