Among these 3 illustrations, which one would have the best chances in a contest?
-
Good afternoon, community. I want to participate in a contest where I need to submit an original illustration for a children's book, and I'm undecided among these three options. The prize might not be significant, but it involves the possibility of working with a major publisher in my country. I know I'm still a rookie in the world of illustration in general and especially in children's book illustration, but I'm 100% committed to my goal of becoming a children's book illustrator. Therefore, it would mean a lot to me to know your opinion on which of these options would have the best chances.
Any insights would be greatly appreciated.

These are great! I would vote number 2 - it highlights your character design skills, and the fantasy environment you've created is really fun!

@Hector-Sandoval-OrmeƱo I vote for #2 and agree with @amandajoyhogan on the reasons why. Such fun illustrations! Good luck with the contest!

Hola @Hector-Sandoval-OrmeƱo!
I like option 2 the best because it has story, characters and background.
If you have time, I have a few suggestions for your consideration and did a quick draw over.
- Consider adding foreground details.
- Consider adding more background, more than just the planet.
- Consider making the baby alien larger. I almost missed the little guy at first glance.
- Consider hand-written text or remove it entirely. Iām guessing you will write in Spanish. I didnāt quite understand the text, you might want to simplify. āThe robot came across the most unique creatureā.

@Johanna-Kim I'm very grateful for the comments and good wishes

@Jeremy-Ross I appreciate your comments and recommendations; I find them to be very accurate. Certainly, my English, especially in writing, is a bit limited. In my original concept of the story, the text is in rhyme, but its relevance in the contest is minimal, as it will only be used as a reference as stated in the contest guidelines. Apart from that, I consider your suggestions very valuable, and I will certainly take them into account. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
