-
HAPPY DECEMBER!! I hope that all our fellow rabbits are happy and healthy and finishing off the year with some amazing art! Share with us!
I have an announcement:
The Virtual Studio Chief Rabbit @burvantill is dead.*
Long live the the Virtual Studio Chief Rabbit @Asyas_illos !!!
Our wonderful fellow rabbit Asya Seward (pronounced Asia) has volunteered to take over the SVS Virtual Studio posts,
January 1st in the new year of our Lair , 2023.
So keep an eye out for her icon at the front of the new Virtual Studio posts.
YAY Aysa!!Now,
Just imagine you are sitting in your open studio while your friends look over your shoulder at your work. Don't hide it, but lean back and share it with them. Us. Your friends. This is NOT a place for critiques. You may applaud, encourage, ooh and ah, only. Relentless kindness.
=)x
*@burvantill (me) is not really dead. Happy and healthy and making comics.
JIC you were worried. -
Hi Lisa, Asya, everyone! I guess I'll go first, lol. I've been away for a bit, but still doing SVS coursework when I can. So glad this site is here. Anyway, here is my latest piece, just a fun fall image. I've been trying to focus on making my compositions more dynamic and working on characters, etc. I have a few things I'd change on this, but overall pretty happy with it. Painted in Photoshop with some acrylic textures added.

@tomparsonsart You know, the thing I really like about this is the way you've managed to make the text part of the image. Whenever I try and have a sign or something, the writing always looks janky. Lovely image!
-
@MarcRobinson Thanks a bunch! Type can be tricky, I use a "brush pen" with pressure sensitivity to get thick/thin marks. Sometimes I'll type something up in a face I like and then distort it with the transform tools to fit the perspective or whatever. Then I'll draw over that with my brush pen, changing and adding things or connecting letters. The type in this image is just something simple I drew out.

@tomparsonsart hello! I absolutely love that building in the background, itβs to die for! Great work!
-
@tomparsonsart This is fun! I love the helmet and I want to be her.
-
@tomparsonsart Well I'll have to steal this technique for the next time I have type in my work!

A small and easy illo today as rest from a bigger piece Iβm working on. Iβm thinking Iβll might do one for each of the lines in the song, which might make for a cute little series.

@tomparsonsart love it! The architecture and color is so spot on! The dog steals the show for me. It's face and wagging tale said it all!
