End of the line…wip ^_^

@Asyas_illos I really like how she seems to be watering herself and the tree growing from the body. Like the green colours with some red. i wonder if the Robin won't attract too much attention with it's colouring. The background might be darker to give more contrast with the ghost? I like the Wessel looking in, but indeed maybe putting it more up? How many have you made this slowember? Kamari sure has a slow start but brings lots of inspiration in the end, lol.
-
@Miriam yes it’s not a grave it’s where she died and the now the forest is sort of reclaiming them? New life springing from her bones, it’s not an immediate new beginning hope that doesn’t make a difference in the judging.
-
@Chantal-Goetheer if you’re new here you’ll come to know this is how I roll, lol it takes me a few illos to warm up, before my better ideas begin to emerge. I don’t slow lol if I slow I lose interest and forget how I’m doing things, it’s a mess!
-
I think I broke, I don’t know what I’m doing anymore! I think I might be overworking it at this point… I don’t usually do so much detail, so I’m not sure where to cut it off. Wtf is going on?!
-
Growth? It’s definitely not a bad thing, I love the textures you’ve got in this one. It’s quite stunning. Keep going, see where it leads you!
-
@Asyas_illos I feel like the most recognizable thing in your style is the way the characters look, so even if you make a more painterly piece, it will still be easy to tell it's yours
And I really like this painterly one! A bit dark, but personally I love that
Good decision to cut the weasel in my opinion. And I agree with @Chantal-Goetheer this Kamari prompt indeed has a slow start, not much happening in it's forum thread even now! So I wonder if everyone will post there suddenly on the last day? I guess it means it's a tricky one
-
@Asyas_illos Oh, I liked the weasel (just not where it lined up). I also liked the bottom of the ghost going to a wispy point in the previous version.
I like the details you are adding. It's fun to see you experiment with doing something a little different. Both styles look good, and I agree with @mzameckaart that this is still recognizable as your style. It seems like a variation on what you usually do. Keep going with it. I think it will turn out great!
-
@Asyas_illos I LOVE how this turned out. If you ever offer this as a print, count me in for a purchase.
-
@ajillustrates thanks! Um, which one? Lol! I’ve never done prints before but my sister and I have plans for an Etsy shop in the future so I’ll keep y’all posted.
-
@Asyas_illos The cat leaping to the fisherman - it came out great.
-
@mzameckaart thanks I appreciate your feedback, I might replace the weasel with some more little birds instead. And I’m glad I’m not the only one who was stumped by this prompt!
-
@ajillustrates gotcha thank you I’m quite proud of it too!
-
@Miriam thanks!
-
@Asyas_illos @AngelinaKizz Thanks guys! I am just lazy to do complicated things though. Published? No,no, i am still miles away to get even a portfolio out.
-
Still working on this, I think some details to small tree and then to the ghost. Then maybe some more critters and I’ll be done.
-
Got another color choice here
-
I think I’m staying with this color palette, and I’ve added some critters what do you guys think? I feel like it might be becoming to busy, I’m getting that itch to start completely over…
-
@Asyas_illos i love this one! Keep going! You're almost there! The palette is gorgeous, the painterly style is gorgeous, all you really have left is refining the ghost.
-
@AngelinaKizz I know, I love ghost in its sketch form I’m afraid I’m going to ruin it! Also since I’ve been working on mostly one canvas I don’t know how I’m going to get a transparent effect. I’m all out of whack! Lol
-
@Asyas_illos probably not being helpful at all, but I really liked your green palette and found it very fitting for the story. I do love the added toads and the way the branch is more in the shade in the last image. You can do it!
