Just current Work i'm working on
-
I wanted to show, what i've been sitting on all day.
I know it's not perfect, but i'm pretty happy at the moment how i managed the shiny reflecting porcelain.
I have been pushing myself really hard this last year and i really think i made some progress. -
@von_nimmermehr I love this. Makes me think of that saying “storm in a teacup” ️
-
Also you guys are welcome to give some critique if you like, it's highly appreciated.

Hi @von_nimmermehr, thanks for sharing your work!
I love the rendering and color palette of the tea cup and think the lighthouse concept will add a nice touch.
Personally, I don’t like the branch too much, since it has such high contrast and doesn’t really add to the story (or does it?) I did a quick removal to see how it looks without the branch and scaled down the cup slightly.
Looking forward to seeing this piece finished!

Thanks @Jeremy-Ross actually its not a branch its a coral so i think it fits the story just fine
i thank you for your feedback, but i can't imagine it with your changes.
Personally i think the Cup shouldn't be to small and with the coral i wanted to add just something extra unexpected. I did lighten it a bit, maybe it helps to recognize it as a coral. Thanks though! But i appreciarte that you took your time and showed me your turn on this illustration.

This is looking great! Really nice job of making it look like watercolor. I wouldn’t have known that was coral if I hadn’t seen your comment about it so that might be something to work on. Even if the coral looks a lot like a branch the viewers won’t know that and because a branch is more familiar that’s what our brains tell us we’re seeing. You could pick some of the features of the coral that really set it apart from being a branch and exaggerate those features. Hope that helps!

@von_nimmermehr really nice, topsy-turvy composition! The teacup is rendered well. Since we don't see all the colors, I'm going to assume that you'll be sticking with this primary color palette, which is beautiful.
I'm going to repeat what @Jeremy-Ross and @Griffin said -- I also thought that it was a red branch or antlers. It doesn't read as coral. Lightening the red might work, but it might be more the shape that's the issue. If the branches were knobbier and the ends blunter, that might help the viewer immediately recognize it as coral.

Anytime @von_nimmermehr!

You are right @Griffin @Melissa_Bailey since i know what it is i did'nt spend to many thought about it, for me it was pretty obvious thats it‘s a coral after @Jeremy-Ross jeremy mentioned it, i already looked up some pictures in the morning, how foolish of me not beeing better prepared or look at some reference pictures.
I will fix that.
Thanks guys -
worked a bit on the coral

@von_nimmermehr oh yes! That definitely looks like coral now. Very nice!
