Your 2021 vs 2020 Art VS Artist
-
At the end of the year I try to look back at how my work has changed over the year and I was surprised by the difference. I feel like I had a stylistic shift this year and didn't realize it.
Anyone else want to share?
2020 art
And my 2021 art

@carlianne that is funny, I had not realized your art style shifted that much either. I love your work.
-
I didn't get to make one last year but here mine from this year
-
Wow @carlianne! Definitely see a change in your style, very nice! It feels like animation stills, I definitely want to see more.
-
@k-flagg and I didn't realize you were doing so much ink work! I love the top middle image οΈ
-
@carlianne Wow, your color palette has totally shifted and I didn't realize it either, even though I've seen your work all year. You've definitely got a dreamy mood vibe going.
@K-Flagg I really like yours too, and like Carlianne says, especially that top middle one! Are they from Inktober?
I'll see if I can find both of mine...
-
@jeremy-ross thank you so much!! When I went to school my degree focused on illustration for the animation industry so I think that influence is always creeping in on me and last year I was fighting it and this year I didn't lol. I also was focused on trying to improve my lighting skills this year which is very evident
-
@carlianne I think mine changed in mood from calm and blue or green to red or brown and dramatic. It's funny how you don't notice these things until you start trying to put them in squares. I always just put in the faces, because I think those show up better on IG, but if anyone wants to see the whole pieces they can go to my Instagram.

@lauraa wow that's so funny!! I didn't notice that about your work either so intense!! But amazing
-
It's fun to see the differences you guys! I didn't do anything for most of 2021, until I started back up in September. I hope I can get a lot more done in 2022 and feel like I have a style established.
-
This was fun!
See any changes?

@lauraa Thank you! Only the top right is from inktober, the rest are just illustrations I have done throughout the year.
-
@jeremy-ross I definitely see improvement! I LOOOVE that little elephant!!
@TessaW all of your work is so strong
-
@jeremy-ross I agree with @carlianne! You can really see the improvement in your colors and rendering.
-
@jeremy-ross In my opinion, you are getting better at controlling your focal points, allowing the eye to flow through your pieces better. You have some good examples of this in your 2020 work too, but it feels a lot more consistent in 2021!
-
Thank you @tessaw, @carlianne and @K-Flagg!
Itβs hard to see the incremental improvement as the year progresses, but with consistent practice, learning, and incorporation of feedback from the community, itβs nice to know that Iβm moving in the right direction.
I can definitely see it in your work too!

since i'm just back in the game taking it serious to get an illustrator, i only have my 2017 and 2021 best nine. From 2017 till now i have made a lot of tattoos and no illustration, but i think any progress is good progress, since its my job to draw every day, i learned a lot in the past years.
But it's no good comparison i guess but i decided to show it anyway
The quality of the pictures is awfull, i don't know why. This is how the app spit it out.
